Xinhua Digest is a highly academic and authoritative journal holding a pivotal position in universities andresearch institutes. Currently papers quoted in Xinhua Digest are considered with high quality; authors are proud that their papers are reprinted in it. However, Xinhua Digest is somewhat lacking in reprinting papers of library science. This article, by taking papers of library science reprinted in Xinhua Digest（1979--2009） as the object and assessing the academic value of these selected literatures from the perspective of library science standard, analyzes the pros and cons and on this basis, puts forward some suggestions.
