Beijing da xue zhong guo gu wen xian yan jiu zhong xin ji kan is hosted by the Ministry of Education's Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences, the Peking University Center for Chinese Ancient Literature Research. Since its seventh edition in 2008, the journal has been indexed in the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) and was selected as a core journal in the "Comprehensive Evaluation of Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Journals AMI" in 2022. Starting from 2019, the journal has been published biannually, with issues released around the end of June and December each year. Academic papers in various fields related to Chinese ancient literature research, including theoretical studies, the compilation and research of transmitted texts, studies on ancient characters and excavated documents, and overseas Chinese classics and Sinology research, are all welcomed. Submissions must be original and free of copyright issues. The journal reserves the right to publish and reproduce articles online.
Submission Format Requirements:
1. Articles should be in Microsoft Word document format.
2. Articles should be horizontally aligned and written and printed in standard simplified Chinese characters.
3. The author's name should be centered below the paper title. Author's affiliations, titles, etc., should be noted with an asterisk () at the bottom of the first page.
4. Each article should include an abstract of up to 500 words and 3-5 keywords.
5. Numbering of chapters or content levels should generally follow the sequence of 1, (1), 1, (1), etc.
6. Use modern punctuation marks throughout the article. Book titles, journal titles, and article titles should be enclosed in angle brackets《》. When combining book titles and article titles, use a separator, such as《论语·学而》. If a book or article title contains another title, use single angle brackets for the latter, like《〈论语〉新考》.
7. Indent the first line of each paragraph by two spaces in the main text; for citations in independent paragraphs, start the first line with an additional four-space indent, align subsequent lines with a two-space indent, and do not enclose the citation in quotation marks. The font for citations in independent paragraphs should be changed to Song typeface.
8. Footnotes should be used on the same page, with each page numbered separately using Arabic numerals like ①, ②, ③, etc.
9. The format and sequence of footnotes should include the author (including compilers and editors), book title (chapter numbers), volume number (chapter names), edition (publisher and publication year), and page numbers. For example: [Qing] Qian Daxin, edited by Lv Youren, "Collected Works of Qianyantang," Volume 38, "Biography of Mr. Hui," Shanghai: Shanghai Classics Publishing House, 1989, p. 687.
10. To avoid repetition, when citing the same document again, the publisher and publication year may be omitted, with only the author, book title, volume number, and page number noted.
11. The word count for each submission should generally not exceed 30,000 words. The deadline for submissions for the first half of the year's issue is November 30th of the previous year, and for the second half of the year's issue is May 31st of the current year. The journal implements a double-blind peer review system, and the editorial board decides on acceptance based on the review comments. Authors will be notified after the unified review process, regardless of acceptance. After each issue is officially published, the editorial department will send two complimentary copies of the journal to the authors and provide remuneration.
We welcome active submissions from colleagues in the academic community.
